Introduction

THE STORY

In the book of Luke, Chapter 15, we find Jesus being heavily criticised by leaders of the religious establishment in relation to the kind of people he was hanging out with. Far from being the religious type – Jesus was associating with immoral people, political collaborators, and the down and outs of the day. Under such criticism Jesus tells a story (parable) to reveal the true heart of his Father towards such people. It shocked the establishment – but gave hope to the hopeless.
