Kingdom of Light

The Father of lights, the Mighty God and Everlasting Father is identified by the prophet Isaiah as the child Jesus (see – Isaiah 9:6). There is a strong argument to suggest that the birth of Jesus took place during the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles. This would mean that the conception of Jesus occurred during the Jewish Festival of Lights the previous year.

Medical science has recently suggested that a flash of light within the womb accompanies the moment of conception. Some believe this to be the infusion of eternal spirit in to newly created human life. The prophet Zechariah confirms that - “The Lord … formed the spirit within humans.” (Zechariah 12:1 - NLT). That light and life are closely linked is clear from the words of John – “Life itself was in him (Jesus), and this life gives light to everyone.” (John 1:4 – NLT).

Just as the infusion of spirit at the time of conception brings life, for without a spirit we could not live, (See – James 2:26) so also in the spiritual realm. It is by means of the infusion of the Holy Spirit in to the human spirit that our Father gives birth to spiritual children. By this act we become alive relationally to God our Father. It is as John states – “Not a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan – this rebirth comes from God.” (John 1: 12). This is the new birth, the birth by which we are brought from the womb of darkness in to the Kingdom of Light.
