God is Light

Ours is a society of the instant – instant success, instant happiness, instant satisfaction and much more. Our world is also a place of incredible busyness – where to be successful means to be busy and where to wait is seen as having no virtue.

Yet, most will also admit that busyness is the greatest enemy of intimacy – whether that be in a relationship between husband and wife, lovers, or between parents and children. It is also true in our relationship with Father God. That he longs for an intimate relationship with us is written large and clear on the pages of his letters to us. Sadly some regard being busy for him as more important than waiting and resting with him.

Little wonder then that many who claim to have a living relationship with their heavenly Father question why they never hear his voice. But to hear his voice demands that we stop, look, listen and wait – that we be still and rest in the light of His incredible presence. Only then are we in the place he ultimately desires for us - resting - close to his heart. This is the place of ultimate blessing and – of ultimate revelation.
