Love Songs

That our Father in heaven loves to hear his children on earth singing to him is without doubt - we cannot read the Bible without coming to such a conclusion. Heaven itself is also a place of incredible singing and music – “In a great chorus they (the mighty seraphim) sang…. The glorious singing shook the temple to its foundations….” (Isaiah 6: 2 – 3 - NLT). In his vision of heaven John – “Heard the singing of thousands and millions of angels….” (Revelation 5:12 - NLT).

But the Old Testament writer Zephaniah declares of God -  "He will rejoice over you with great gladness. With his love, he will clam all your fears. He will exult over you by singing a happy song.”  The truth is our Father, as a doting mother, sings love songs over his children.

To hear love songs from heaven, love songs from Father, requires our being still – just as a contented child in its mother’s arms. Indeed, the very beat of his heart is a love song, and nothing brings him more joy than when he finds his children resting in his arms and close to his heart. It is there we are able to hear His song and it is there his love calms our anxious hearts and takes away all our fears.
