The Intimacy of His Presence
“In your presence is fullness of joy; At your right hand are pleasures for evermore.”
(Psalm 16:11 NKJV)
It appears self evident that King David is not writing here theoretically but experientially! He was one who has tasted for himself the incredible joy and ecstatic pleasure that is to be found in the presence of God. It is as he rests in Father’s presence that David finds His words to be – “Sweeter than honey to my mouth” (Psalm 119:103). And, it is because of this personal experience he is able to recommend that we also - “Taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8). In these few meditations we are invited to enter The Most Holy Place – the intimate presence of the living God! In this place we will hear the sweetness of his words, behold the beauty of His majesty, and be immersed in the sea of his love.
There can be no higher privilege in life than to know the passionate love, intimate fellowship and sweet communion of our Creator and Father God. Once spoiled by His Presence nothing else in this world will satisfy us! One smitten we find ourselves with David longing only for “one thing” – to live with him, to behold his beauty, to delight in his perfection’s, to meditate upon him, to constantly enquire of him in all things – in other words – to be in his intimate presence. (See - Psalm 27:4 NLT & NKJV). It is in this place and in this place alone that the purest pleasures and greatest joys one can ever know are to be experienced! It is the place of ultimate blessing!
