Light
Most of what we know about the Universe comes from information that has been carried to us by light. What is true in the natural realm is also true in the spiritual. All that we know of God is carried to us by his light! Paul a great leader of the early church said - “Everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible.” (Ephesians 5:13&14 - NIV) We cannot know God unless his light shines in to our hearts - “God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. (2 Corinthians 4: 6 - NIV).
When light waves, which travel in straight lines, encounter any substance, four things can happen – they are reflected, absorbed, transmitted, or refracted. The first three of these reactions should be mirrored in our lives. We ought to reflect God’s light, absorb his light, and be transmitters of his light. However we dare not refract (bend or twist) His light!
